Community Partnerships

At Good Shepherd, we believe we’re stronger together. That’s why we partner with local organizations, schools, and service groups to make a lasting impact in our community. Whether it’s through food drives, housing support, health initiatives, or shared events, we work hand-in-hand with our neighbors to meet real needs and build meaningful relationships.

These partnerships allow us to live out our faith in practical ways — showing up, lending a hand, and sharing God’s love right here where we live.

Good Shepherd UMC is proud to be an official school partner with Neabsco Elementary. Each month, we collect specific items requested by the school to support students and staff — from school supplies to snacks and everything in between. We also love showing up for school events and sending volunteer readers to share stories and encouragement with the kids.

We also extend a helping hand to Dale Elementary, providing Weekend Snack Packs for students who could use a little extra support. Our own children help pack these bags with care — usually enough for about 30 students at a time.

We’re also active partners with the Hilda Barg Homeless Prevention Center and Ferlazzo Emergency Shelter, where we serve meals several times a year to individuals and families in crisis. This ministry is part of our ongoing work with the Cooperative Council of Ministries — a network of local churches working together to care for the community through coordinated outreach and support.

Want to get involved? Whether it’s donating items, reading to students, or helping pack snacks, there’s always a way to help!
