In today’s fast-paced online environment, protecting your personal information is more crucial than ever. AARP’s workshop Vigilance Against Cybercrime is designed to empower you with the knowledge and tools to navigate the digital world safely. We’ll cover how to stay safe in public, at home, when using social media and when shopping and banking. We’ll also look at common scams and how to avoid them.

Presenter bio:
John Pritchett retired in 2022 after a forty-year career in public service, including two decades in the U.S. Navy followed by twenty years in the intelligence community. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Mississippi and a master’s degree in military art and science from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College.
Since retirement, he has authored over three dozen books spanning science fiction, children’s literature, and nonfiction. His title, Anti-Scam: The Survival Guide to Outsmarting Fraud, Identity Theft, and Deception, reflects his enduring commitment to public education and consumer protection.
Active beyond the page, John serves as a master financial educator for Prince William County and works with AARP on advocacy and outreach initiatives. He lives in Lake Ridge, Virginia, with his wife, Dawn.
